How Difficult is it to Learn Web Design?
It used to be difficult to become a web designer.
There was a lot to learn, and you needed the rare qualities of being creative and good at programming. That is, you needed to be able to design attractive graphics and templates, while understanding some quite complex coding – which is little different from mathematics. Not many people can do both.
But that has changed in the last few years, with the advent of Content Management Systems. This type of software allows you to set up sites through an online control panel.
Rather than opening a text editor and starting to code from scratch, you just install a bit of software which then asks you for things like the site name, which template you want to use (there are thousands available) and can then get down to adding pages with text and graphics.
It all makes it VERY simple to do, and anyone that has more than 6-months experience of using the web should have the necessary skills.
Of course, getting your site built is not the whole story. You still need to ensure that your site gets visitors, and that you consider other issues – like how to make money from it (if that is your intention).
But the good news is: It’s no longer difficult to learn web design. The fact that you are asking that question shows that you have the most important skill: curiosity. As long as you are curious to learn, you’ll find the answers will come soon enough.
